California; Hayward; HaywardThere are major overhauls planned for the world’s most utilized search engine.

The Wall Street Journal has reported that Google is planning to redesign its search engine to better cater to the needs of the global youth population. According to the report, Google is aiming to make its search engine more "visual, snackable, personal, and human," by incorporating more human voices and moving away from the traditional "10 blue links" format of search results. This shift is in line with Google's plan to enhance the search experience for younger generations. It would mean more results that are in line with the user’s preference. The experience would be tailored to the user’s interest.

As AI applications like ChatGPT gain popularity, there is increasing recognition of the potential of this technology to disrupt conventional ways of operating, making Google's proposed changes particularly relevant. Google is expected to unveil new features at its upcoming I/O developer conference, including the ability to converse with an AI program named "Magi," with the aim of making its search engine more human-centric.

Google's move towards a more "human" search engine is also an attempt to differentiate itself from competitors and provide a more engaging and interactive experience for users. The company is reportedly exploring ways to incorporate more human voices into search results, including experts in various fields, to provide more context and depth to search queries.

With Google having a consistent interface for most of its existence, the change would be drastic for the website. The website has been relatively user friendly, with people across all age groups who own smart devices and computers making use of it

The idea of generative AI has been a huge topic of conversation this year, with various applications capturing public attention and prompting companies to develop similar products that could revolutionize the nature of work. That being said, Alphabet Inc.'s Google has not yet responded to Reuters' request for comment on this matter.

Overall, Google's move to revamp its search engine is a reflection of the changing nature of technology and society. As younger generations become more accustomed to interactive and visual experiences, companies like Google must adapt to remain relevant and meet the evolving needs of their users.
