New York City, NYNew seasons bring out old traditions. Fall brought out the autumn leaves, pumpkin picking and classic Halloween horror movies with present films trying to replicate it, but not in the best way.

“The Curse of Hollow Bridge” seems to be just another Halloween movie featured on Netflix as its plot compares to many other films in the past and many more to come.

The movie showcases a 14-year-old girl named Sydney (played by Priah Ferguson) who moved from Brooklyn to historic Bridge Hollow with her parents (played by Marlon Wayans and Kelly Rowland) right before Halloween.

As Sydney was very opposed to the move, her parents wanted a change of scenery which was only one of the many occasions father and daughter disagreed on throughout the film.

Like most films, the pair had to eventually team up to stop a mysterious spirit — Stingy Jack, a man hanged for his crimes centuries ago — that threatens to take over the small New England town.

With Ferguson coming from the award-winning Netflix show “Stranger Things” alongside famous actor Wayans and singer Rowland, many thought the film would be anything other than ordinary.

As it is the No. 1 movie on Netflix in the U.S. and several other countries, some thought the movie and its actors could do better.
