‘Inside Out 2’ is an Emotional Rollercoaster
Pixar is known for its talent blending creativity with entertainment, and “Inside Out 2” is no exception.
I remember when the first movie of the “Inside Out” movie series launched. I excitedly walked into the theater to watch the movie on the big screen, with a large popcorn and ICEE in hand. Little did I know it would tap into my emotions on an extraordinary level because of all the important lessons it taught its audiences about life, the people around them, and above all, themselves. I was thrilled to learn Pixar made a sequel — “Inside Out 2.”
“Inside Out,” released in 2015, is a movie about a girl named Riley whose life is centered on her emotions. Starting in Riley’s early life, her five emotions: joy, sadness, anger, fear, and disgust, interact with each other to make up Riley’s actions and shape her overall personality. Nine years later, “Inside Out 2” walks through the changes Riley experiences as she enters her teenage years with new emotions — anxiety, ennui, embarrassment, and envy.
Without a doubt, the 90-minute movie takes its audiences on an emotional rollercoaster with a mix of humor and heartfelt moments. The outstanding visuals only contribute to beautifying the journey of life through Riley’s storyline. While Riley changes as she grows older, audiences have an opportunity to empathize with her character and perhaps connect shared experiences people of all age groups can relate to.
The beloved Pixar movie may be described by a simple definition, a cartoon or animation. However, Pixar is well known for its talent to blend creativity with entertainment, all while sending valuable messages through its vast pool of movies. The ‘Inside Out’ movie series is no exception, and audiences are bound to come across messages that entail valuable life lessons. If you can, I recommend finding out on the big screen while “Inside Out 2” is out now in theaters.
