J.I.D Evolves With His ‘Forever Story’
The new album features Baby Tate, EARTHGANG, Ari Lennox, Ravyn Lenae and more.

After much anticipation, J.I.D's latest album, "The Forever Story," has finally arrived. Although the last album, "DiCaprio 2," came out in 2018, the Atlanta native delivered a stream of songs and guest verses to keep fans afloat.
J.I.D announced the album earlier this month, giving fans a teaser of what's in store by teasing the tracklist and artists that might appear on "The Forever Story."
The latest is a star-studded affair, with production from BadBadNotGood, Kaytranada and Monte Booker, among others. J.I.D enlists rap's elite on "The Forever Story" with features from Yasiin Bey, Lil Durk, Lil Wayne and more.
In January, J.I.D released the first single, "Surround Sound," alongside fellow Atlanta rappers 21 Savage and Baby Tate, which made an electrifying first impression. The video delivers exciting stunts as the rappers all sit in a car suspended in mid-air.
"The Forever Story" marks J.I.D's most ambitious musical project to date. It displays a new world of lyrical ability, weaving dense messages and clever bars over a wide range of production.
Days before the release, J.I.D held a scavenger hunt for fans to find a 2006 gold Pontiac G6 — the prize, listening to the album early.
The album art, taken by photographer Naskademini, showcases a captivating image that examines Black life in America while J.I.D stands in the middle with his eyes closed.
