In an unexpected turn of events, Kanye West’s private school Donda Academy reopened its doors hours after announcing its closure.

Donda Academy parents received an email Wednesday night stating, “With the help of our parents and community, we are back and returning with a vengeance!”

It is uncertain whether West or the parents are organizing an initiative. The situation is, without a doubt, complicated.

Parents were initially informed that the school will close for the 2022-2023 school year, effect immediately amid controversy surrounding the rapper concerning anti-semitic remarks.

West is continuously facing backlash for a series of anti-Semitic comments within recent weeks. According to The Hollywood Reporter, an educational consultant resigned from Donda Academy after West tweeted an anti-semitic remark.

Organizations such as Adidas, Balenciaga and his booking agency have cut ties with him. Star athletes Aaron Donald and Jaylen Brown ended their partnerships with West’s brand management agency, Donda Sports. High school athlete Chuck Bailey decided to part ways as well.
