Lil Baby, born Dominique Armani Jones, has become one of the most impactful artists of our generation, and Amazon Prime’s documentary, “Untrapped: The Story of Lil Baby,” showcases just that.

The Karam Gill-directed documentary follows his inspirational journey from the streets of West Atlanta to the big stages while delving into the systematic injustice that people of color often face. Artists like Young Thug and Drake also appear in the documentary, praising the critically acclaimed rapper.

Freshly released from prison in 2016 at 21, Lil Baby faced an impossible decision: to return to the streets or pursue a rap career. Following his decision to seriously pursue music, the talented rapper released his debut album, “My Turn,” in 2020, which landed at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart.

In a recent press release, he shared some thoughts about the film: “This film is a look into my journey, and if it inspires even one person to believe that they can get through hardship and dare to follow a dream, then it was worth every penny spent and hour worked.”

“Untrapped: The Story of Lil Baby” is streaming now on Amazon Prime.
