This year’s top 10 highly-anticipated films includes “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania”, which is scheduled for release on Friday.

“Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” (Feb. 17, 2023)

The third installment in the MCU’s “Ant-Man” saga, Paul Rudd and Michelle Pfieffer return to the big screen after the events of “Avengers: Endgame” (2019). The film was announced back in November 2019 and the trailer debuted in October 2022. “Ant-Man” is an incredibly popular MCU superhero and the new film is definitely going to be a hit.

“Creed III” - (Mar. 3, 2023)

The “Creed” films have been successful considering they are Rocky spinoffs. Michael B. Jordan reprises his role of Apollo Creed’s son, Adonis Johnson. The last “Creed” film was released nearly five years ago and “Creed III” production was announced in January 2016. 

“John Wick: Chapter 4” - (Mar. 24, 2023)

Keanu Reeves returns in an all-new installment of the “John Wick” franchise. The film was originally scheduled to be released in May 2021, but was delayed by a year due to COVID. The film was once again delayed to its current release date of March 24. “John Wick” films have always been well-received and this fourth installment is expected to be no exception.

“The Super Mario Bros. Movie” - (Apr. 7, 2023)

“The Super Mario Bros. Movie” has been discussed amongst the masses on the internet for various reasons. From questionable casting to reliving memories, fans of Mario are excited. Chris Pratt and Anya Taylor-Joy will be voicing Mario and Princess Peach, respectively. Plans for a Mario film date back to 1993, so this film has definitely been anticipated for a considerable amount of time. 

“Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” - (May 5, 2023)

Chris Pratt and Zoe Saldana return to the MCU this May. Plans for a third Guardians film date back to 2017 and six years later, we will finally have the film. Being one of the most anticipated Marvel films of the last few years, “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” is sure to be a hot film.

“Fast X” - (May 19, 2023)

The “Fast & Furious” films have contributed to a dense movie saga and it doesn’t seem to end. “Fast X” is racing its way to theaters this May and the cast only gets bigger. Returning to the scene are Vin Diesel, Jason Statham, Tyrese Gibson and Michelle Rodriguez. Jason Momoa is making his first entry to the “Fast” universe. “Fast X” was delayed from a 2021 release date due to COVID. The film is expected to bring the same high-budget action that previous “Fast'' films have displayed.

Halle Bailey will be making her presence known in “The Little Mermaid” as she plays Ariel. A live-action adaptation of “The Little Mermaid'' was being planned in 2016 and nearly seven years later, the world will finally see what Disney has to offer. Live-action adaptations of Disney films have been debated amongst fans. Many said the abundance of CGI in past adaptations have taken away from the live-action aspect. Regardless, “The Little Mermaid” is expected to blow the audience away with its visuals.

“Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse” - (June 2, 2023)

Shameik Moore will be returning to voice Miles Morales, while Oscar Isaac will be joining the “Spider-Verse'' for the first time. “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse” was in development before the release of its predecessor, “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse”. It goes to show just how much excitement is surrounding the sequel and the world can’t wait. With the first film being praised for its animation and story, Across the “Spider-Verse'' is expected to hit the same sweet spots that Into the “Spider-Verse” did back in 2018. 

“Kraven the Hunter” - (October 6, 2023)

The idea of bringing Marvel villain, Kraven, to the cinematic universe has been floating since 2007. In 2018, the plans for Kraven were beginning to move forward. 5 years later, “Kraven the Hunter” is set to be released in October with Aaron-Taylor Johnson being the lead. While the character of Kraven has rarely been seen in Marvel media, fans of the Marvel comics know exactly what’s in store as there is a subtle level of buzz surrounding Kraven’s entry to the extended MCU.

“The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes” - (Nov. 17, 2023)

Eight years ago, the world saw the last installment in “The Hunger Games” franchise. Fans of the film series are excited for the new installment. “The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes” will serve as a prequel to 2012’s “The Hunger Games” with Tom Blyth, Hunter Schafer, and Peter Dinklage being in the cast. There were talks of spinoff films within “The Hunger Games” series in 2017 and this November will mark the first spinoff film’s release.
