Coco Jones Releases Reimagined Version of ‘Almost There’
The singer-actress adds soulful spin to the new single.
Did Disney “Double Back” and create a reimagined version of Princess Tiana’s “Almost There” from the classic movie “Princess and The Frog” that was released in 2009? Former Disney channel icon and 24-year-old singer Coco Jones posted on Instagram that she was chosen to recreate the song.
“I’m doing my own version of ‘Almost There’ by Princess Tiana. I’m so excited to do this with Disney and make my own version of such a classic princess song. Tiana I love you. Disney, thank you for having me. Peace,” said Coco Jones.
In 2020, Disney announced there would be a sequel series to “Princess and the Frog” called “Tiana”, but here we are four years later and the only updates surrounding the classic is Tiana’s Palace which is a restaurant at Disneyland Park that opened in late 2023 and an amusement ride called Tiana’s Bayou Adventure at Magic Kingdom Park that was opened earlier this year.
After the singer performed the new single live, fans are taking their speculation to social media in hopes that she will play the role as Princess Tiana in the new sequel, but Disney has not confirmed.
