Check Out Omar Apollo’s Debut Album, ‘Ivory’
Four pre-released album singles are available now.
Omar Apollo’s upcoming album “Ivory” is out now. The chic singer connects with Kali Uchis, Daniel Caesar, and production from Pharrell, Chad Hugo, Teo Halm and more for his debut album.
His latest single, “Tamagotchi,” produced by Pharrell and Chad Hugo, marks the singer’s fifth single. Omar recorded the song last year in Miami with the legendary production duo and took the opportunity to flex his bilingual ability by singing in both English and Spanish. Pharrell and Chad Hugo lay the foundation for Omar’s catchy lyrics with a hypnotic string-forward beat — it’ll have you dancing in no time.
The single arrived alongside Apple Music’s announcement of Omar Apollo as the UpNext artist for March. Apple rolled out a biographical short film shot on an iPhone, coupled with an interview from Apple Music’s Zane Lowe to highlight Omar’s upbringing, early influences, and experience as a musician and dancer.
Omar Apollo is currently on his Desvelado Tour which will include stops at Coachella for Friday sets. According to a post made by Apollo in late February, a deluxe version isn’t far off either.
Omar meshes R&B, Latin, and hip-hop elements, for what will probably be his most experimental project yet.
“Ivory” is available via Warner Records. Check out Omar Apollo’s upcoming tour dates.
