New York City, NYMost of the younger generation went to Pinterest or Instagram for outfit ideas. Now, many TikTok users are asking ChatGPT, an artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot, to style their outfits for a day as it has become a popular trend on the platform and YouTube.

The trend sparked over the summer and now has more than 4 billion views on the search “Chat GPT fashion” as many creators test to see if the tool is helpful for outfit inspiration.

“ChatGPT comes in to fill the gaps,” Lacey Byrne, based in Toronto, told Refinery29. “I can make an aesthetic happen in real life for me.”

Lacey Byrne decided to use Chat GPT as a styling tool because she had difficulty bringing hot trends from celebrities like Bella Hadid and Kendall Jenner to life, according to Refinery29.

Chat GPT was launched last year by the tech company Open AI. The tool allows users to ask questions and request information, which respond back within seconds. Since it has hit screens, the tool has had explosive growth due to its usefulness and versatility.

TikTok users are not only asking chat GPT to style their everyday outfits, but also for special occasions such as dates, brunches, and interviews.

“If you are having a hard time finding new brands and exploring new clothes, try Chat GPT,” Charlie Tran, a TikTok influencer, said in a video. “You can play around with the prompt and then get it more curated to your niches but this is pretty cool.”
