New Jersey — Yung Miami was not playing when she said she came to run her sack up in The City Girls’ hit song ‘Act Up.’
The rapper and Revolt TV talk-show host recently announced that she is making her acting debut in an upcoming Netflix film “You People”, co-written by “Black-ish” creator Kenya Barris and actor Jonah Hill.
Miami, fondly referred to as her government name, Caresha will act alongside industry legends like Eddie Murphy, Nia Long, Jonah Hill and Lauren London in the film.
In an Instagram post, Miami thanked Barris, who doubles as the film’s co-writer and director for the opportunity along with thanking her co-star London for seemingly introducing the role to her.
The acting debut follows a successful year for Miami. Outside of launching her Revolt TV talk-show Caresha Please, The City Girls rap duo also secured a BET Hip-Hop Award for "Best Collaboration" for their latest track "Good Love” that featured R&B singer Usher.
“You People”, which is set to release in January, takes a comedic approach to touch on subjects like interracial marriage, cultural clashes and generational differences.
