Cori Broadus: Snoop Dogg’s Daughter Recovering from Severe Stroke
The 24-year-old sheds light on recent health scare and holistic wellbeing.
The daughter of hip-hop legend Snoop Dogg, Cori Broadus, 24, shared on her Instagram Story that she recently experienced a severe stroke. She also expressed her disbelief and questioned what she might have done to deserve such health challenges.
While details about the cause of the stroke and her recovery were not provided, has been on a challenging health journey since being diagnosed with lupus at the age of 6, according to PEOPLE.
Lupus, an autoimmune disease, leads the immune system to mistakenly attack healthy tissues, causing inflammation that can affect various organs such as joints, skin, kidneys, blood cells, brain, heart, and lungs. Lupus Foundation of America states that there are 5 million people worldwide with some form of lupus, 1.5 million of which reside in the United States. Other notable people who have lupus include Selena Gomez, Lady Gaga and Nick Cannon. Unfortunately, there is currently no cure for this condition. Given lupus’s impact on multiple organs, it can increase the risk of stroke.
Broadus had previously opened up about her battle with lupus and her efforts to improve her health. In September 2023, she spoke to PEOPLE about her positive progress after adopting a more holistic approach. She embraced a natural lifestyle, foregoing medications she had been taking since childhood and incorporating herbs, sea moss, teas, exercise and ample water consumption into her routine.
Having faced a suicide attempt in 2021, she decided to make a significant shift away from medication, stating that it made her feel like she was “going insane.” Her decision to go “cold turkey” marked a commitment to holistic well-being.
She expressed satisfaction with the results, noting a reduction in joint pain and arthritis symptoms associated with lupus. However, Broadus acknowledged that the journey toward better health is ongoing. While pleased with her progress, she recognized the need for further lifestyle adjustments, particularly in terms of diet and rest.
Despite the challenges, she emphasized the importance of taking things one day at a time and acknowledged that achieving overall health requires continuous effort. Her story reflects resilience, determination, and the recognition that a holistic approach to well-being is a gradual and evolving process.
