Los AngelesThe lack of financial literacy, limited money management and student loan debt are the main obstacles Gen Z face. Now throw the tax season into the mix and “anxiety” sets in.

A recent survey from Cash App Taxes revealed that more than half of Gen Z said “tax stress has brought them to tears” and the young generation is looking for therapists to help them through the aftermath of filing their taxes, according to Yahoo Finance.

“They may already be finding other challenges in their financial life, and then thinking about taxes as this add-on challenge may only increase some of the anxiety associated with that,” said Eric Bronnenkant of Betterment, a digital financial advisory company.

Another contributing factor for the heightened stress could be Gen Z’s knack for holding down multiple jobs that require more attention in reporting how they make their money as the gig economy and cryptocurrency investments has been a consistent go-to for the generation.
