Internship Programs Scaling Back As Demand Increases

Shopify will not be offering any internships or career opportunities this fall. This news came days after the company reported a drop in its share price. For the fall internship program, "we have concluded hiring for a limited number of opportunities," said a business representative.
In addition, the corporation has let go of nearly 50 workers. More software firms could be in jeopardy as a result of the economic uncertainties caused by inflation, the pandemic and the conflict in Ukraine.
Some of the world's largest IT corporations have also slashed their workforces. The planned internship programs at companies including Twitter Inc., Redfin and Coinbase have all been canceled. College students and recent grads are the most impacted by the cancellations.
As a result of these programs, students get the opportunity to practice their chosen subject of study in a real-world setting.

1. Keep your options open. Many new digital businesses are looking to hire college students and recent grads. Use internship websites or attend career fairs in your area to find out what opportunities are out there.
2. Learn how to connect with others. Networking is a great way to meet new individuals who can help you advance in your chosen career field.
3. Make use of social media. When looking for internships and jobs, LinkedIn is a terrific place to start. In addition, social media platforms like Twitter and Instagram can help you connect with others who share your interests in the workforce.
4. When searching for internships, the most important thing to keep in mind is to be patient. It's easy to get overwhelmed by the procedure, but try to keep a positive attitude and focus on the task at hand.
