Target Removes Children’s Book Mislabeling Iconic Black Figures
Really, Target? During Black History Month?
Target’s decision to remove a children’s book during Black History Month has set an example for other retailers. The book, which was supposed to teach kids about civil rights, had mislabeled three iconic black figures, W.E.B Dubois, Booker T. Washington and Carter G. Woodson. As a history teacher posted the video on TikTok, it quickly went viral, and Target responded promptly by removing the book from its shelves.
