Seattle police have caught controversy by testing out a new lasso-like device called a “BolaWrap” that intends to take suspects down in a “de-escalating” manner. It’s a device some say is not only demeaning to the mentally ill but also dangerous, while others say, “Hey, it’s better than getting shot by a taser or gun.”
