The Sonya Massey Case

Will Sonya Massey and her family get justice?

07.29.24

Thirty-six-year-old Sonya Massey, after doing a 911 call to receive some assurance after having heard noises near her home for a possible intruder, bodycam footage shows the passive-aggressive attitude and lack of professionalism from former deputy Sean Grayson. Grayson was convicted with two DUI’s in the past, and was discharged from the Army for “serious misconduct.”

As Massey was asking for help from the responding officers and calling her family, Grayson decided to escalate things to a major critical moment, all she did was say “I’m Sorry.” Instead of receiving help from the authorities who are supposed to protect civilians, her life was cut-off in an instant by Grayson’s firearm.
