REVIEW: MAD MAX: FURY ROAD (Saturday Night at the Movies)

By: Gabriela

Two weeks ago I saw the new film called “Mad Max: Fury Road.” I went with my family to one of the movie theaters in Oakland. The movie starts after the collapse of civilization. In the movie Charlize Theron plays Furiosa, one of the main drivers for Immortan Joe played by Hugh Keays-Byrne the leader of the survivors of the new civilization.

Furiosa decides to save a group of girls from being force into prostitution. After her decision she meets Max, played by Tom Hardy. Max and Furiosa do everything to save these girls while risking being persecuted. The whole movie was full of action, and it was very exciting too. I enjoyed the ending, because Furiosa becomes the new leader of the city. However during the first fifteen minutes, there were a lot of unexplained events.

One thing that was confusing was why some people looked pale white, and others looked normal. Another thing that wasn’t explained was that the citizens of the city had some kind of strange religion. I recommend this movie to people who like action and people who enjoy special effects. However I wouldn’t recommend this movie to the people who haven’t saw the other two movies.
