The East Oakland Collective (EOC), a member-based community organizing group comprised of natives, homeowners, residents of East Oakland and allies, has not slowed down because of the pandemic. Their investment in serving the communities of Deep East Oakland by increasing Black and Brown representation and participation in political and economic landscapes has allowed them to continue making a huge impact in the community. This is how they get their work done.
This video is part of a 2-year series by YR Media to highlight California-based nonprofits uplifting Black and Brown communities by providing them with a new platform to talk about their work, issues and the people they serve. These organizations are focusing on the needs of housing affordability, income inequality, racial justice and more.
