JAY-Z & YO GOTTI FILE LAWSUITS FOR 152 INMATES IN MISSISSIPPI

Team ROC, a prison reform group put together by Jay-Z and Yo Gotti, made a video last month about the despicable conditions of Parchman Prison in Mississippi. They are working to advocate for people who are incarcerated there by filing lawsuits on their behalf.

GENIUS MOVES TO FUSE MEDIA TV

Fuse and Genius have teamed up to produce a show for linear television based on some of Genius’s best digital content series. The “Genius X Fuse” show will debut on March 18. Guests like Alicia Keys, Hit-Maka and Kendrick Lamar will be featured in upcoming episodes.

US MUSIC REACHES REVENUE OF $11B

The U.S. has seen growth in revenue flow in the music industry recently. In fact, it’s the best it’s been in about a decade. Thanks to the money spent on streaming, subscriptions, as well as physical purchases and digital music downloads, revenue grew to $11.1 billion. According to the RIAA’s 2019 year-end report, streaming music was responsible for almost 80% of all recorded music revenues.

Norva Denton joined Warner Records in 2018, taking on the role of Director of A&R during the rebrand of the company under CEO Aaron Bay-Schuck. Denton has been responsible for the success of some of your favorite artists such as YFN Lucci and the newest work from Wale. In a statement about his promotion, Denton said, “I’m continuously searching for the next generation of great talent and I look forward to building upon our unstoppable roster of artists.”
