After a steller 2020, R&B singer-songwriter Fana Hues returns with her latest single, “Pieces.”

Hours after the single’s premiere on Apple Music’s “The Zane Lowe Show,” she released the complementing Philip Youmans directed video.

“Pieces” marks a new beginning in the singer’s career and serves as the first solo offering after her 2020 album “Hues.”

This year has been just as kind to Hues – who happened to land on Tyler, The Creator’s eclectic summer album “Call Me If You Get Lost.”

Produced by Tim Maxey, the single weaved together a smooth R&B beat as she serenades the track with her beautiful and delicate voice. She sings about the instability in a broken and convoluted relationship with her music.

The video further adds to the dreamy allure that the song exudes. The scenes in the video serve as a metaphor for Hues’ emotions, circling back to her priorities when creating. In a news release she said, “I thought it was super important for me as a Black woman to be open about that because so many times I feel like I’m not allowed to express my emotions.”
