In my second of three self-care playlists, I've chosen songs that try to give us the space to enjoy ourselves. While taking care of ourselves can include a lot of time alone, thinking, and productivity, it's important to recognize when we just need some time to unwind and let loose. Learning to take care of yourself means balancing hard work and rewarding yourself. These songs are meant to appeal to your inner freaky self. Have some fun and dance.

Yaeji - One More

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IIDDfl5nUiM

Yaeji is a damn queen at making catchy-ass songs. Check this out it’ll fasho have you dancing at some point.

Wintertime - All The Time 2

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ofks2BHsSI

Wintertime
bringing us some sad turnt music, just the type of genre I like.

Ravyn Lenae - Closer (Ode 2 U)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jy-ihUH796w

Ravyn Lenae gave us a fire EP with Steve Lacy and this track stood out to me. It's upbeat and catchy, and will definitely help you unwind and de-stress.

Father - Throw It

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IllQvtwWPJQ

Father finally came out with new music and it's actually hella good. He's a fool but the song still has the element of slap to it.

Lil Uzi Vert - New Patek

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PczuoZJ-PtM

Lil Uzi Vert is the greatest rockstar since the lead singer of Nickelback...he’s basically the Gene Simmons of this generation, and he brings light into dark days. It's easy to have some fun and stop worrying when you hear Uzi’s tiny-ass voice in the background.

Aminé - Reel It In

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QIwWYXJbxGY

Aminé will never live down how overplayed Caroline was, but this song is fun as hell.

03 Greedo - Sweet Lady

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iE3v7nSnHN4

03 Greedo (Free Him) is the legend behind every function/party y'all have gone to in like the last year, and this song speaks to my soul. Greedo blessed this track, and I can hear him on this song speaking to me, saying “I love you, and everything's gonna be okay Gbaby. My music will hold you down.”

Lil Baby & Gunna - Drip Too Hard

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sqyNqxbCfO8

Lil Baby & Gunna are basically Goten and Trunks fusion dancing into Gotenks when they link up.

Loudy Luna - Wish You Hell

https://soundcloud.com/loudyluna/wish-you-hell

Loudy Luna shook me when I first heard this track, I looped it for a minute. Also again, it's sad turnt music to help you get into that shmood!

Shay Lia - Funky Thang

https://soundcloud.com/shay-lia/funkythangisout

Shay Lia and KAYTRANADA did the damn thang with this song and I hope there is more to come because this track makes me wanna take off my cowboy hat and start square dancing!

The music that I've chosen is to help you get into the shmood of relaxation, of letting go for a minute, to dance and express yourselves. Amid all the trials and tribulations we go through every damn day, we need time to unwind, to clear our mind, and to just listen to something that lets brings us out of our own head.
