Ode to Boredom

Ode to Boredom

I remember the last time I was really, truly, properly bored. I think I was 9 and a half.

That was before social media alerts, non-stop classes and a frighteningly large tuition bill stole my peace of mind. Before we grew up, my millennial peers and I had no idea how scarce true boredom would become. And that's a problem, since psychologists have actually proven that boredom sparks creativity and innovation.

So these days, if you do catch me in a rare moment with my bored resting face, know that under the calm is a storm of thoughts and ideas. Some might just change the world, or at least get the planet past 2050.
