ChicagoTo help kids get gifts for the holiday season, “Pose” star Indya Moore launched the TranSanta initiative allowing anonymous donors to give to trans youth and young adults in need.

Moore and an attorney with the American Civil Liberties Union, Chase Strangio, came up with the idea about a virtual chimney on the TranSanta Instagram account, according to CNN.

The account features letters from about 200 kids donors can select from and purchase gifts from their wish list at Target.

"I didn't have a chimney growing up in the Bronx or in foster care, but I do have my community now," Moore said in an Instagram video. "My friends and I want to make sure that trans kids feel like they are a gift to this world because they are. Acceptance and love are gifts we all deserve all year."

It's estimated that LGBTQ youth make up 40% of the youth homeless population in the United States, despite representing 7% of the general youth population, according to True Colors United.

Earlier this year, Moore raised $20,000 for pandemic relief to 400 LGBTQ people of color, according to CNN.
