Since its debut in 1999, Nickelodeon’s popular show, SpongeBob SquarePants, has been entertaining a wide range of audiences. Sadly, creator Stephen Hillenburg passed away Monday at age 57 due to ALS.

Writer, producer, and director of SpongeBob SquarePants, Hillenburg created an amazing show that has stayed prevalent over the past 20 years. People of all ages have been devastated by his death, but we’ll always have his amazing childhood show and hilarious memes to keep his legacy alive.
