Hercy Miller, former Tennessee State University basketball player and son of hip-hop legend Master P., has transferred to Xavier.

He signed with Tennessee State last spring after receiving offers from Vanderbilt, LSU, UCLA, Southern Cal, Missouri, South Carolina, Arizona and Georgetown. However after playing six games at TSU, he suffered a hip injury that called for surgery and cut his freshman season short.

MIller posted the announcement on Twitter, “GOD opens doors, no man can shut #DreamBig #MLK,” with a photo of himself at Xavier’s Cintas Center.

Master P. said his son transferred because he didn’t believe TSU was equipped with the proper medical staff to care for the injury.

After signing with TSU, Hercy signed a $2 million name, image and likeness sponsorship deal with Web Apps America. That deal will remain intact as long as he’s a college athlete.
