ChicagoThe 9-year-old daughter of Beyonce and Jay-Z made history as the youngest MTV Video Music Award winner.

Blue Ivy Carter, who won the best cinematography for Beyonce’s “Brown Skin Girl” video, shared the award with her music icon mom, Wizkid and SAINt JHN.

In the video, Beyonce called on famous friends like Naomi Cambell, Lupita Nyong’o and Kelly Rowland to sing praises of Black beauty. Blue Ivy sings on the opening and closing of the track. She received a writing credit for the song, which was her first official feature and official entry onto the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

“Brown Skin Girl” is one of the tracks from Beyonce’s “Lion King” album and got a standalone visual treatment on YouTube in August 2020. It has previously been available to Disney+ subscribers as part of Beyonce’s musical film, “Black Is King,” which dropped in July 2020.

Earlier this year, Blue Ivy won her first Grammy Award for the song. She is the second youngest artist to win a Grammy.
