Actress Keke Palmer talks about safeguarding your mental health and setting boundaries.
Actress Keke Palmer, who has been advocating for mental health, gave us a peek behind the stage curtain during a recent event at the University of Memphis.
The 28-year-old Illinois native, who’s been working in the entertainment industry since she was 12, revealed that there are several obstacles to self-preservation, including setting boundaries.
“Although it’s not crazy or exciting, literally turning the other cheek and protecting your peace is above all. Because if you get upset about it every time it’s just going to drain you,” said Palmer. “It is a time and place to always set your boundaries to let people know this is where you have me effed up at.”
Palmer added how disappointing it is to see Black women not supporting each other, “Hurt people, hurt people. As hard as it may be, be kind,” she said.
