Chicago is known for producing some of the world’s greatest athletes. Football players, for sure. Basketball players, definitely. Golfers … um, not so much.
That is changing thanks to Mulbe Dillard IV. The Hyde Park native got his start in the sport at an early age out on the greens at Jackson Park Golf Course. At 22 years old, Dillard is now a recent grad of Florida A&M where he finished as the No. 1 minority collegiate golfer in the nation in the Advocates Pro Golf Association (APGA).
True Star’s very own, Kyla Hubbard, caught up with the Whitney Young alum to chat about a variety of things, including being a Black athlete in a predominately white sport, playing for an HBCU, giving back to the community and more.
