As a follow-up to her breakthrough 2019 major-label debut, “Cuz I Love You,” Lizzo returns to the spotlight with her new album “Special.” She uplifts her audience with themes of self-love, unwavering self-confidence and heartwarming positivity on her latest album.

Lizzo announced her return in April, with the single “About Damn Time.” The song marks the singer's first release since her 2021 hit song "Rumors," featuring Cardi B.

"About Damn Time" features Lizzo’s signature amalgamation of “disco-pop,” coupled by a reworked piano melody from the 1984 song “Hey DJ” by The World’s Famous Supreme Team. In the Christian Breslauer-directed video, she suddenly leaves a "Stressed & Sexy" support group after she's called upon to share her feelings. Lizzo uses the song to motivate herself throughout life's troubles exclaiming, "Turn up the music, turn down the lights, I got a feelin' I'm gon' be alright."

Her latest single, "Grrrls," features pop music's biggest producers, Max Martin, Pop Wansel, Benny Blanco and more. Lizzo uses the pop anthem to inspire women across the globe.

The album includes a special message where the singer expands on the making of "Special," explaining that she's recorded over 170 songs for the album. She also tells fans to love, claiming that a little love can go a long way in making the world a better place.

“Special” is available via Nice Life and Atlantic Records.
